Summer into Fall

Summer into fall is a busy and exciting time. This year, the Windsor Arts Commission invited me to provide a pottery demonstration during our town Harvest Festival.

In the foreground, the piece purchased by the arts commission to hang as part of art in public places.

In between making pots, the following collage shows the highlights of the summer with family and friends.

  • Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Bolder-Boulder, dressing up for weddings and champagne toasts, fancy mocktails speakeasy style, small boat floatillas, home and garden projects, sweet neighbors who purchase an endless supply of mugs and also take great photos, Seattle, annual backpacking adventure, dog sunbathing, Brooklyn and NYC with cousins, Indigo Girls at New Belgium and Brandi Carlyle at Redrocks and chilly fun with BFF at Jackalope Indie Art Fest!

  • My friend and fellow potter, Amy Hayman and I laugh that great posts should include a quiet disclaimer including the fact that real life did indeed occur along with all the blasts of sparkly fun. Kilns, cars and dryers required repair. Pre-teen sorrow ensued after botched hair cut. Dog with anal gland issues lives on-site. Dishes, laundry and bathroom cleaning happened and also mostly did not.

Spring in Northern Colorado

It’s been a super rainy spring! Everything is greening up and starting to bloom. Check out the blossoms on this Colorado Hedgehog Cactus - aren’t they spectacular?

All in person shopping locations are stocked and ready for you to shop! The next order of business is a production cycle designated for the online store only! Shop update with all new pots coming soon!

I’m limiting the number of special orders I take this year - if there is a specific item you’d love to see in the online shop please let me know! This production cycle begins the second week in June.

December Re-Stock

I started to freak out. Had I thrown pots on Friday instead of glazing, I would have had a complete re-stock of my on-line store. I’ve decided to show myself a little grace. This month, there will be a two part re-stock.

While I wait for the first firing to complete, before I glaze and start the second firing I was able to hang out with the videographer-child, make pumpkin bread, a round of cookies, and do a little tidy up around the house.

Here’s to finding balance instead of frustration.

Be kind (to yourself and others).

An Introduction

Hello! I’m Christine Ginnity, the potter behind the kickwheel. In addition to creating, I love journeying through life and navigating the bizarre-o-land of long term relationship with my husband. I am intoxicated by the equally peculiar, soul stretching sweetness of parenting our 11 year old son. I’m passionate about our urban homestead which includes a giant vegetable garden, a flock of chickens, Rosa and Lily the ducks and two boxes of bees. Our home also includes Fritz the dog - who is often my favorite family member.
